After participating in a travel program in 2007 as a junior in high school, I developed a passion for travel and a passion for sharing the world with others. As our world becomes increasingly interconnected, it is critical for our students to become more culturally aware and globally-minded. The chance to explore the world and become global citizens is an opportunity that gives our students new perspectives not only on themselves, but also on the world around them. In addition to this, having an international experience in high school can make our students more competitive college applicants and more likely to participate in study abroad programs. Through education, I have found that sharing the world in my classroom provides powerful growth by allowing students to see beyond the walls of the classroom. Sharing the world through experience, however, provides students with invaluable sense of self and of others.
